Wide shoulders, straight silhouettes, cocoon sport coats, floor-length pencil skirts, checkered detail and diagonal stripes were at the forefront of the recent Thom Browne Fall 2025 collection at the New York Fashion Week. Paired with feathery lashes and doll-like features, it was a ready-to-wear fashion show of note, complete with a runway bedazzled with 2000 origami paper birds and, wait for it, Swarovski crystals!
In addition to dog-shaped accessory bags and shrunken patch pocket jackets, Swarovski added the final dash of sophistication and flair to an already extravagant display of bird-inspired fashion. In the luxury fashion collaboration, the Austrian House’s iconic Millenia jewellery range illuminated the Thom Browne signature style beautifully. This included a trompe-l’oeil gown that redefined sartorial illusion, appearing as a seamlessly tailored coat layered over a shirtdress and tie. It took artisans in a Parisian atelier two weeks to assemble this couture-level piece, which was handcrafted from over 3500 precision-cut octagonal crystal stones in Silver Night, Jet Black and White. Ultimately, this demonstrates Swarovski’s incomparable sense of style.

High-fashion embroidery with Swarovski’s iconic Millenia crystals added shine to a series of other looks on the runway too. From wool coats embroidered with boldly flowing chains of Millenia-cut octagon crystals, to a skirt embroidered with a Magpie bird entirely made in crystal. Not to mention the checkered wool jacket embellished with crystal pendants in Thom Browne’s House colours of red, white and blue.
True to bringing joy and celebrating individuality, Swarovski’s Global Creative Director, Giovanna Engelbert’s collaboration with Thom Browne has left many in awe. Adding to the already impressive ensembles of patch pocket jackets and low-rise, ankle-length pencil skirts in hunting tweed, the brand’s iconic crystals made magic on the runway.
