TALKS

Slow Down

Taking life at a slower pace might just be exactly what your family needs. ‘Slow Living’ isn’t a buzz word for nothing and through this talk, I encourage you to be mindful about living a slower, more meaningful life and to teach your kids to do the same. Why? Because then they wouldn’t have to reparent themselves when they reach your age. I also touch on topics like soft skills children need to learn from a young age in order to be successful adults. It all starts with slow living, which is why I am so passionate about it. This talk is perfect for parents, teachers and anyone living and working with children.

The Customer Journey

Creating memorable moments for customers by identifying touch points and attending to the gaps. Having worked in the hospitality industry and having done this talk as a workshop with many hotels, guesthouses, restaurants and even conference centres, this talk is a winner for any hospitality-based team. Combined with a wine tasting, it allows you to compare your journey on the palate with a client’s journey within your company and with your service offering. This talk is ideal for hospitality establishments wanting to motivate and inspire their teams, whether it’s a restaurant, guesthouse, lodge or hotel. It comes from experience within the industry – from guesthouse management, PR and marketing and owning my own mystery guest business.

Patience and Perserverence

A talk revolving around aging wine and career growth. It touches on the importance of patience in both the wine-making process, as well as career advancement, highlighting the benefits of long-term dedication and perseverance. As a self-starter and entrepreneur, I can share a lot of personal stories when it comes to patience and perseverance. I’ve written articles on soft skills required in the workplace in order for you to be successful, and long-term dedication and perseverance are two definite must-haves.

The Art of Blending

Teamwork and collaboration are the main topics of this talk. I draw parallels between the process of blending wines to achieve the perfect flavour and how different team members’ skills and strengths contribute to achieving corporate goals. While I don’t work in a corporate environment, collaboration between brands and freelancers can often be just as important, if not more. A lot can be achieved through collaboration. You just need the right team.

Embracing Change

Vintage variations and market adaptability is the name of the game. Through the concept of different vintages, I illustrate how embracing change and adapting to varying conditions can lead to innovation and success in your small business. Flexibility is everything, whether it’s in winemaking, fashion design, travel or your everyday lifestyle. It’s a light and fun talk that inspires you to think out of the box and proves that not everything is set in stone. Being a perfectionist, it took me a long time to accept that. While I love to travel often and need a change of scenery often, change within a workplace is something I’ve had to learn to embrace as I am a freelancer and with that comes a lot of change.

Innovation and Tradition

A talk about balancing old and new approaches. While innovation and creativity are key in making a business flourish, it’s the tradition, sentiment and stories behind it that make it authentic and relatable. In this talk, I touch on how a successful winery balances traditional methods with innovative techniques. I also talk about how this relates to finding the right balance between established practices and new strategies in your business.

Storytelling

The power of narrative in wine and your business. The talk highlights how the stories behind a specific wine brand add value and appeal. This is then connected to the power of storytelling in branding, marketing and corporate communication. This talk is perfect for both small businesses, as well as larger companies wanting to take a more authentic approach.
