Established in 2012, Kgalagadi Lifestyle Lodge has become a firm favourite among locals and travellers alike – a lovely one-stop destination in the Kalahari which has expanded its offering to ensure it remains the ideal desert destination where wilderness meets modern. You can stand the chance to WIN a two-night Kalahari breakaway to the value of R5 500 at this unique destination.

About Kgalagadi Lifesyle Lodge

Two-hundred and fifty kilometres away from Upington Airport and only five kilometres from the popular Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park, the family-owned and operated lodge has recently been revamped, taking inspiration from its natural surroundings, including the magnificent Northern Cape sky and the flora that paints the area with olive green hues from the indigenous haakbos, suurgras and kaalgras.

The lodge is well-known for its 32 strategically placed chalets, including 4-star family, luxury, standard and business chalets, as well as nineteen 4-star campsites, each with its own ablution block – four of which are located adjacent to their own chalet.

To add to the existing offerings, the Lodge’s portfolio has expanded to include Black Mane Butcher & Grill, founded by Head Chef and Kgalagadi Lifestyle Lodge owner SJ Koortzen. The eatery pays tribute to the free-roaming black maned lions synonymous with the Kalahari and offers only the finest quality meat (including venison), burgers, pies, artisanal sandwiches and gourmet pizzas.

A grocery shop and Black Mane On-the-Go with eco-friendly and biodegradable packaging are also available on-site, offering takeaway meals for travellers making their way through the Kalahari. Further to this, the Lodge has launched its own 4×4 hire called Oryx 4×4, a great service for visitors looking to explore the many attractions in the surrounding area.
