The bright lights of the silver screen and the tension of a couture catwalk collided in a one-evening-only event – Vogue World: Hollywood – on 26 October 2025. The iconic Paramount Pictures Studios lot was transformed into a cinematic runway spectacle – one that any fashion afficionado would have loved to attend. From archival film costumes and high-drama silhouettes to A-list stars nostalgically stepping through the gates of Hollywood history, it was a bold celebration of fashion’s enduring dialogue with cinema.
According to an article in Vogue Philippines, the Vogue World concept originated with the aim of commemorating the magazine title’s “long history of uplifting global talent in fashion, beauty and culture.” Ultimately, the annual event, which debuted in New York three years ago, brings Vogue Magazine off the page and into immersive, out-of-the-ordinary fashion experiences.

Last year’s edition, Vogue World: Paris took place at Paris’ famous Place Vendôme and emphasised fashion’s connection with sport and heritage. This year, the event shifted to Los Angeles’ Hollywood with the overall theme of film and fashion and all proceeds of show tickets sold (a whopping $4.5 million) going to the Entertainment Community Fund with a focus on the costume industry professionals impacted by the recent LA wildfires.
Apart from the huge cast of models and actors who took part in the Vogue World: Hollywood show, guests in attendance were just as impressively dressed. From bold golden metallics and colour blocking to pastel pinks and balloon skirts, not to mention bold florals and soft lines that balanced out the odd sculptural dress, it was an evening filled with fashion and fun.
Nicole Kidman
Classic in Chanel, the actress had every eye on her as she walked down the Vogue World: Hollywood runway. With an elegant shoe that doesn’t steal from the detail on the dress, and a pop of red here and there, it fit her like a glove.

There were quite a few balloon dresses, balloon pants and even balloon sleeves at the show, with this one – from Christian Dior – worn by Greta Lee standing out for sure. Boldly paired with black, the look is stylish, yet playful, with a beautiful bow that doubles up as a train. It’s a brave look that catches the eye immediately and the small pink and green details add texture, femininity and perhaps even some nostalgia.

One of the most feminine looking outfits at the event was the one Dakota Johnson arrived in, debuting her partnership with Valentino whilst also paying tribute to her long-standing creative collaboration with designer, Alessandro Michele. She looked stunning in Look 40 from Michele’s 2026 Spring ready-to-wear collection, with the full length gown’s special detailing and sheer elements bringing some mermaid vibes. The black tulle-ruffled neckline adds boldness, drawing the attention upward and she cleverly paired the dress with a classic black bag so as not to distract from the beautiful beadwork on the fanning, crystal floral appliqués. At the same time, the bag also echoes the black detail in the dress.

This dress, fresh from Louis Vuitton‘s Spring/Summer 2026 collection, is everything when it comes to the ultimate party dress. The fringed dress’ feminine movement and shine were given an edgy twist with her deliberate shoe choice of pointy black boots, which she complemented with a black clutch featuring metallic detail, subtly tying into the moto boho trend. It’s a youthful, trendy look, perfect for end-of-year party vibes.

Big, bold florals, instead of smaller floral details, are the way to go nowadays and who would know it better than Dame Anna Wintour, who stepped down from her role as editor-in-chief of Vogue in June 2025? Looking confident, but feminine, she attended the Vogue World: Hollywood event in a stunning maxi dress with floral detail bold in both colour and size. The dress’ patterns were echoed in a contrasting, tailored black coat, bedazzled with similar blooms for the occasion.

Wintour’s bold floral prints fit right in with what transpired on the runway. Here, Penelope Ternes showcases another beautiful, long-sleeved, floor-length dress – Look 35 from Gucci‘s Spring 2026 ready-to-wear collection – boasting large floral prints that will transform any winter into summer.

Similarly, Look 36 from the same collection, dubbed La Contessa, was modelled by Libby Taverner. It comes with the same sentiment, just in a darker shade, striking balloon sleeves and an elongating halter neck.

The Mexican actress and singer, Eiza González made quite the statement in a hand-embroidered leather bijoux dress from Mugler by Miguel Castro Freitas, boasting an eye-catching, drop-waist straight skirt from the fashion house’s Stardust Aphrodite SS26 collection.

It seems sculptural leather dresses are the way to go, with Hailey Bieber also wearing another version from the same fashion house. Look 29 is a black leather rose sculptural neckline dress from the same collection. Whilst the neckline itself was rather striking, the model and television personality did not seem 100% comfortable in the dress, which has a rather low back. Still, it certainly made a statement.

Gold metallics was another favourite among many this year, with Becky G – a former Power Ranger – adding a touch of vintage class to the Hollywood event with her Georges Chakra look. Soft off-shoulder details were complemented by a train and golden vertical lines at the back made the dress flow beautifully.

These bold Vera Wang Haute lines caught the eye immediately and with it being black and white, it stood out as one of the most elegant, yet stylish looks of the evening. If you ever wanted to try your luck at colour blocking, but you’re nervous about bringing bright colours into the mix, something like this might just be a good place to start. The striking sunglasses certainly also added a fabulous final punch to the look.

For the conservative like myself, this see-through Fendi dress is a daring look, but I love the lines and the depth of this outfit, which is elevated even further with metallic-looking tassels that allow the wearer to show some leg. The subtle glitter in the dress complements Harrier’s Tiffany & Co necklace and black and silver stiletto ankle strap heels beautifully and completes the outfit brilliantly.

Bringing and air of vintage finesse into the cinematic runway event, Apatow wore her Chloé lace with utter pride. The black handbag brings a splash of contrast into an otherwise neutral look, which in turn makes her face shine ever the brighter. The lines are remarkably flattering on her slim figure and the soft lace makes it flow beautifully, ensuring a soft, feminine look, but with confidence.

A stunning example of colour blocking for formal events, Mika graciously paraded the runway with this soft pink and mustard Valentino two-piece, proving that thinking out of the box might just be what you need to turn heads. The gold stilettos picked up the mustard colour with its subtle shine and once again, as seen in many other looks, the black clutch bag (and this time also a pair of black gloves) added a touch of contrast.

This golden Spring 2026 Chanel look turned heads with its flowy tassels, completed with a pair of white heels with black toes, giving it just the right amount of edge. What made the dress even more special, was the attention to detail when it comes to the fabric it was made of.

Screaming Great Gatsby, this Armani Privé dress is as elegant as it is bold. Its underarm detail is sublime, and with a lacy underdress, this look is simply stunning. Limited, but eye-catching black elements in accessories like her shoes and bracelet bring the look to another level. The pearl-like detail on the dress resemble femininity, while the complete look resounds confidence.

Another long, straight cut dress – this time a metallic custom Etro halter neck – was worn by Taylor Hill. With subtle blue elements in the dress, echoed in her eyeshadow, the dress reflected light beautifully, making it a stunning evening dress. This was not the only halter neck on the evening, proving that it might just be a continuing trend to keep an eye on.

Slightly see-through, this Maison Margiela halter neck outfit appears like an A-line dress with beautiful, flowing details that stretch from one shoulder down to the floor. But, when you look closer, it’s actually a different take on the jumpsuit and the surprise once you realise that, is what makes it so striking.
