I am becoming more and more passionate about slowe I am becoming more and more passionate about slower, sustainable fashion. The recent @karoo_winter_wool_festival affirmed that passion. In a talk titled Less is Luxe, at the tea tent hosted by @ms360_ondersteunersklub , I paired wool and other natural fibres with items from my own wardrobe, as well as carefully curated items from @hm , @levis_africa and @milkandhoneysa . In the end, it IS possible to build a more sustainable wardrobe with items from general fashion stores as long as you choose well. We played around with a wool and mohair blend jersey from H&M and a cotton set from Levi's. I will share all the outfits with you over the next couple of weeks. We spoke about what sustainable fashion really is, how you can transform your current wardrobe from its current state into a more sustainable wardrobe, how to build a sustainable capsule in your wardrobe and how to style special slow fashion items with items you already have in your wardrobe. We also touched on trending colour combinations. It was a wonderful experience to work with all these brands, to share my ideas around slower fashion and to see the excitement amongst those in attendance. WOOL WORLD | I am still processing our incredible WOOL WORLD | I am still processing our incredible experience at the Wool Festival - part of it being the Wool World, curated by @viviers.studio and @hovendesign . The initiative and passion that went into this festival and also this art installation is mind-blowing and makes you want to help tell the story of wool. Soon, I will share more about the experience, but for now, my family and I are enjoying some well-deserved rest on the Garden Route. (There will therefore also not be a podcast tomorrow). The main house is one of the oldest farm houses in the region, with vintage wooden floors, high ceilings and romantic fireplaces. It felt like coming home, even though we'd never been.
