Whether you’re taking time out at home over the festive season or travelling to your favourite destination, staying in shape while on holiday is never easy. Apart from the constant nibbling, there is also lots of wine and bubbly in the equation, not to mention lazy days binge watching Harry & Meghan or the brand-new season of Emily in Paris. I’ve taken the liberty of jotting down some of the best fitness routines from my time with Ignite Fitness over the past few months. These are all exercises you can easily do at home (or on holiday) and it could even be a fun family activity for all to join in on.

Fitness routine 1

Warm up
50 slam ball burpees
3 minutes rope jump / run 800m at a fast pace

20 step jump lunges
20 bag knee squats
30 V-sit ups
Do this sequence twice

2 minutes rope jump

30 Russian twist ball sit ups
40 ski jumps
30 ball toe toner
Do this sequence twice

2 minutes rope jump

EMOM (Every minute on the minute)
Windshield wipers
Knee tuck crunches
Ankle reach crunches
Hollow hold
Rope jump

Stretch

Fitness routines for the festive season

Routine 2

Warm up
3 minutes rope jump / run 800m at a fast pace

25 loaded beast burpees
30 slam ball
40 ski jumps
30 plank reach
30 plank jack

2 minutes rope jump / run 400m at a fast pace

30 ankle reach crunch
30 toe reach
30 Russian twist sit ups

2 minutes rope jump / run 400m at a fast pace

EMOM (Every minute on the minute)
Plank
V-sit ups
Hollow hold
Butterfly crunches

Stretch

Hopefully these two fitness routines will come in handy, whether you’re at home or on the road. Remember to pack a jumping rope and perhaps a medicine ball.
