I’ve been binge watching old South African advertisements on YouTube the last couple of days and I just can’t deal! Here are some of my favourites. Oh, how I love South Africa!

Sasol

This Sasol television commercial was one of the favourites on TV for a long time and I still love it.

Liqui Fruit

This Liqui Fruit ad was recorded 1991 and stars Lushano Kuhn. Check out those costumes!

Vodacom

This Vodacom commercial dates back to 1994. We’ve come quite a long way since then, haven’t we? Imagine what the COVID police would do on this beach, though…

Sparletta Crème Soda

An Afrikaans ad for the popular Coca-Cola Sparletta Crème Soda that dates back to the 1990s.

Cadbury

This Cadbury ad dates back to 1985 and I love it!

And, here’s another one for their yummy Lunch Bar – one I remember well.

Simba

Who remembers “I wanna be a Simba chippie”? ‘Nough said.
