The search for family cars is probably one of the most extensive searches you will ever do. It has to be safe, reliable and spacious, and if you’re like us it also has to be comfortable, in line with current technology trends and well, something for the eye. Mitsubishi Motors South Africa just launched their all-new Pajero Sport and this family SUV might just tick all the boxes!

During an impressive online launch on 17 September 2020, Mitsubishi Motors South Africa showcased the new Mitsubishi Pajero Sport as stylish, tough, reliable and practical. The 7-seater is also something for the eye, might I add! It’s pretty much all you’d want from a family vehicle, just as much as it is all you might want as an adventurer. It comes in three derivatives: Mitsubishi Sport 4X2 Auto, Mitsubishi Sport 4X4 Auto and Mitsubishi Sport Exceed, and sells from a competitive R 609 995. All three models are powered by the 2.4L MIVEC Turbodiesel four-cylinder intercooled turbodiesel.

The new Pajero Sport leads the way for the new direction that Mitsubishi Motors is heading in, focusing on growing market segments. With its stylish and luxurious features and its new Dynamic Shield front grille, it sure seems to be the hero model to take the company to a whole new level. Offering 7 seats, the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport can be classified as a new-generation, all-round SUV, uniting off-road excellence and luxurious on-road comfort.

Safety

The Pajero Sport comes with a variety of safety features, including 7 airbags and ISOFIX child seat anchors. It also comes with active stability and traction control (ASTC), anti-lock braking system (ABS), electronic brake-force distribution (EBD) and an emergency brake assist system (BAS). All models also come with a hill-start assist system (HAS), dusk-sensing headlights, rain-sensing windscreen wipers, rear-park distance control and a rear-view camera.

Luxurious comfort

The steering column has tilt and telescopic adjustment options and the multi-function, leather-clad steering wheel comes with audio and cruise control settings at your fingertips. The 8-inch touch screen is connected to Mitsubishi’s advanced smartphone link display and the range also boasts Bluetooth and hands-free voice control.

There’s a full-colour digital instrument display, electric windows all-round, rear passenger controls for air-conditioning and automatic dual-zone air-conditioning throughout. All models also have additional USB and accessory sockets with dual USB for rear passengers and a 220AC 150-Watt power plug.

The Mitsubishi Pajero Sport Exceed also includes a power tilt and sliding sunroof, Mitsubishi remote control connectivity and electronic tailgate with dual kick sensors.

Of course, these days, a car is not a car without some fancy technology. So, the Pajero Sport also comes with an 8-inch colour LCD cluster with different display options and Apple Car Play and Android Auto. It also has an electric parking brake with auto hold function.

4X4 Adventures

For the adventurous daddies out there, the advanced Super Select 4WD II system is said to be among the best in the world. The Pajero Sport has a 30-degree approach angle which will allow you to tackle tough obstacles head-on, with a 24-degree departure angle that will get you back down safely.

Named one of the finalists in the 2019 Car of the Year competition, the new Mitsubishi Pajero Sport should definitely be one of the cars you consider when you go SUV hunting.

XOXOXO
