SAISI ExpoSense 2026: A Journey Through the Senses

June 6 @ 9:00 am - 3:00 pm
R100
SAISI ExpoSense

If you’re looking for a meaningful, family-friendly event that blends education with interactive experiences, the third edition of SAISI ExpoSense 2026 is set to offer exactly that.

Taking place on 6 June 2026 at Midstream Ridge Primary School from 09:00 to 15:00, this unique expo brings together specialists, educators, therapists and families to explore the world of sensory integration – highlighting how sensory health awareness can transform the way we learn, work and live.

A Community-Centred Sensory Experience

Hosted by the South African Institute for Sensory Integration (SAISI), ExpoSense is a community-driven initiative designed to make the concept of sensory integration both accessible and engaging. Rooted in the principles of Ayres Sensory Integration®, the event focuses on how the brain and body work together to process sensory information – ultimately shaping how we experience the world around us.

This year’s theme, Journey Through the Senses, is thoughtfully woven throughout the event, creating an immersive experience for attendees of all ages.

Interactive, Educational and Family-Friendly

Expect a dynamic programme filled with interactive elements – from traffic-inspired décor and children’s activities to live demonstrations (including guide dogs), go-carts, and engaging sensory stations. Add to this a curated selection of coffee, food and gift stalls, and you have an event that seamlessly blends learning with lifestyle.

Parents, grandparents, educators, therapists, corporate leaders, children and teens are all invited to explore how sensory health plays a role in everyday life.

Pretoria-based Occupational Therapist, Elrika Beukes explains: “We strongly believe that knowledge about your own sensory system can open so many doors and help with understanding yourself, your spouse, child, boss and even your mother-in-law better.”

Insightful Talks and Professional Development at SAISI ExpoSense

For those looking to deepen their understanding, the expo will host live SACE- and HPCSA-accredited talks (also streamed live), offering valuable insights into how sensory health impacts parenting, teaching and learning. These sessions also provide an opportunity for educators and health professionals to earn CPTD and CPD points while connecting with like-minded individuals.

Talks to look forward to:

  • 09:30 – 11:00
How your sensory health affects your parenting and your teaching
Presented by Dr Gina Rencken and Elize Janse van Rensburg
  • 12:30 – 14:00
How your child’s sensory health affects their learning
Presented by Yumna Razak and Liani Austin

Why Attend SAISI ExpoSense 2026?

By bringing together knowledge, resources and community, ExpoSense aims to foster a deeper understanding of sensory health while equipping attendees with practical strategies that can be applied in everyday environments.
