Top online wine shops

Well, the ban on wine has been lifted and we can once again stock up on our most beloved wine farms’ vinos! Some of us might still prefer to buy online and stay away from that nasty Corona and with good reason. So, here are some great online shops that you can visit for your favourites:

Wijn

Wijn just launched their online store (www.wijnbar.co.za) that offers a select range of bespoke and boutique wines that fit various pockets. Check out their weekly promotions where winemakers will offer 15% discount on specific wines. You can also subscribe to their HomeWijn club (with free delivery in South Africa for orders above R1850) and discover six different wines every month. I think this is the perfect way to explore our country’s brilliant wines!

Great Domaines

If you’re looking for something different and something special, visit Great Domaines’ online shop for wines from France, Italy, Lebanon, Portugal, South Africa and Spain. They sell wines of various cultivars (even the ones you’ve never heard of), different domaines and they even offer customers a whole list of organic wines.

Frogitt & Vonkel

As a private wine merchant, Frogitt & Vonkel offers an array of really classy wines in South Africa, but also in Namibia. They specialise in small growers and boutique estates like Vondeling Wines and Hilton Vineyards, Kronendal Boutique Winery and more.

LaVerne Wine Boutique

You can buy wine at cellar prices from LaVerne Wine Boutique’s online shop. The owners believe that wine is something very personal (and so do I) and sell wines from over 50 different wine farms. An added bonus to this online shop is the fact that in addition to wine, you can also buy beer, whiskeys and gins and have it delivered to your door.

I’ve never been a very keen online shopper, but lockdown has made me do it and I must admit, I love the convenience of it all. Also, it makes the world so much smaller! It’s not at any liquor store that you would be able to find the special gems featured in these online shops. And, it’s an easy way to find some great gifts. Just saying.

XOXOXO

When I originally commented I clicked the “Notify me when new comments are added” checkbox
and now each time a comment is added I get three e-mails with the same comment.
Is there any way you can remove me from that service?
    Bless you!
