Len Muller’s latest album, Oorgenoeg speaks to the heart

He is a South African artist whom I believe will reach great heights. He’s got talent that evolves all the time and he’s not afraid to sing from the heart. His latest album, Oorgenoeg is proof enough that Len Muller is one of a kind.

His latest album – a thirteen-track album called Oorgenoeg – was inspired by the season of life that he currently finds himself in. It features songs with lyrics that have been inspired by marriage, family, faith, friends and the ocean, but his faith seems to play a very important role across the album.

The whole album is about the intimacy I experience in my relationship with God.

– Len Muller

One of my favourites on the album is the song he co-wrote with Stella (Christelle Combrink). Toevlug is very much a song in which he reminds the listener where to find shelter and rest – something we all long for after this rough and turbulent year. The song’s music video was filmed and released during lockdown and brought hope to many in a rather dark time. It includes shots of Len in his home studio, Stella on her farm and other nature scenes in and around the Cape.

Len’s family values also shine through in a song that he recorded with his sister, Miemie Blaauw. Oorgenoeg is not only the first song he has ever recorded with his sister, but also the title track of the album.

Heildronk is another single that was released in this year that has topped the charts on many radio stations.

Len says that he loves how the song, Klei came together. He says the lyrics and the melody has a way of capturing the emotion of the song.

Produced by Jattie de Beer and Gideon Botes, this album is truly raw and honest and that is what I love about it. We need raw. We need honest. We need to remember that we are all human and this album is a reminder of exactly that.

XOXOXO
